Light and Lighting

Lighting is an indispensable part of our daily lives. It shapes the environments in which we live and work, and has a significant impact on our well-being. When the lighting is right, it supports our activities, creates a sense of security, and enhances the visual experience of the spaces we inhabit. This is why it is crucial that lighting design is planned with care and insight to support both function and aesthetics in our spaces and buildings.

Simple solutions that make a difference

Lighting design is an integrated part of our projects, and we ensure that lighting becomes a natural and effective component of the solutions. This applies to both daylight and artificial lighting, and we work on a wide range of projects – from parking houses and underground stations to workplaces and data centers, both indoors and outdoors. The ideal lighting solution is often the one that goes unnoticed – it is only when the lighting works well that it truly makes a difference. A good lighting design highlights the unique qualities of a space and can also add visual value and tell a story.

Lighting as a natural part of the whole

We always strive to create simple and functional solutions that highlight the distinctive and beautiful aspects of a project. Our approach to lighting design is never for lighting’s sake but for enhancing the overall design and supporting the overarching architectural idea. It is this balance that creates the best solution – and we place great emphasis on ensuring that lighting and architecture work seamlessly together.

In our approach to lighting design, sustainability is a central factor. It is not only about minimizing energy consumption, for example by optimizing the use of daylight or choosing fixtures that can be repaired and recycled. In many cases, a simpler building combined with thoughtful lighting design can create a significant sustainability benefit by enhancing the experience without requiring large amounts of materials.

Lighting across all project stages

From the initial ideas to the final design, lighting is a natural part of the process. We work with lighting design throughout the project’s phases – from concept development and strategic planning to detailing. We collaborate closely with external lighting designers, suppliers, and installers to ensure that the solution is realized optimally.
