How we work with sustainability

At Gottlieb Paludan Architects, we are committed to addressing the climate and biodiversity crises with action and purpose. As architects and actors in the construction industry, we have a vital role and a huge task in reversing the current critical development.

Our mission

By focusing on the interconnected measures of CO2 reductions, circular construction principles, and biodiversity enhancement, we strive to push our design and construction practices in the right direction, towards new practices with a much smaller ecological footprint.

Our mission is to help drive the transition towards a fossil-free society in planetary balance. We actively seek partnerships with clients and partners who share our ambition to reduce carbon footprints and enhance biodiversity.

Our solutions

We offer a wide range of sustainability management and consulting services, tailored to maximize each project’s potential. We are well versed in design planning and construction with various certifications and climate programmes such as BREEAM, and FutureBuilt, and we provide DGNB certifications for buildings, urban areas, and landscapes. Every project we undertake integrates climate and nature enhancement solutions, with an emphasis on biodiversity. By focusing on circular economy principles and efficient design, we address emissions related to embedded energy, a key element of today’s sustainability agenda.
At Gottlieb Paludan Architects, we are dedicated to contributing positively to society and the environment, through projects with a lasting impact for the common good.

Annual Sustainability Report

As part of the United Nations Global Compact initiative since 2009, we publish an Annual Sustainability Report. This report communicates our progress and commitment to integrating the Ten Principles into our business strategy and operations, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The 1.5°C Business Playbook

Our strategic commitment is further guided by the development of the Gottlieb Paludan Architects 1.5°C Roadmap, inspired by the 1.5°C Business Playbook. This framework helps us align with the targets in the Paris Agreement.

Meet our Sustainability Managers

Leading our sustainability initiatives are our two Sustainability Managers, who drive change in our buildings and landscape disciplines. Their leadership helps us set and achieve specific sustainability targets, fostering effective communication and development both internally and with our clients.

ISO 14001 certification

We are proud to hold the ISO 14001 certification, an internationally recognized standard for environmental management. This certification demonstrates our dedication to reducing our environmental impact and ensures we are well-prepared to meet the EU’s footprint reporting requirements.
