Water & Utilities

Water is essential for life and one of society's most important resources. Clean drinking water protects our health, while effective wastewater treatment safeguards our aquatic environments and nature. With challenges such as pollution, cloudbursts, storm surges and cyber attacks, it is crucial that we secure the entire water cycle – from groundwater and drinking water to wastewater.

We design solutions that combine technical functionality with architectural quality. From waterworks and treatment plants to pumping and storm water solutions, we create facilities that support robust systems while adding value to their surroundings. We develop future-proof solutions that benefit society, nature and the people who use them.

Integrated learning and communication

Architecture can create a deeper understanding of water as a resource through design that communicates the dynamics of the water cycle and the technology behind it. When we design waterworks, treatment plants and related facilities, we integrate the story of water into both the buildings and the landscape. The facilities can thus serve as learning spaces and active communication frameworks. We invite neighbours, school classes and other citizens inside so they can experience the water's journey through the systems up close. Through architecture, we tell a story that raises awareness of resource consumption and technological solutions. The aim is to inspire visitors to cherish water and understand its indispensable value for both people and the environment.
Our solutions are energy efficient and designed with materials and methods that protect the environment. They are not only reliable structures, but also flexible solutions that can be adapted to future needs and technological requirements.

Our approach

Effective and sustainable solutions for the water sector require more than technical functionality. We bring a holistic approach to our projects, where functionality, visual beauty and reliable solutions merge. We analyse the existing water cycle and assess how new architecture can best be integrated into both the landscape and urban spaces. Our work ranges widely from detailing technical requirements and hygiene measures to developing buildings and landscapes that contribute to the local area. Each project is carried out with an eye for technical precision, aesthetics and long-term solutions, ensuring that the facilities can be adapted to future needs.

What can you expect as a client or partner?

As a client or partner, you can count on a deep analytical approach that creates a solid foundation for decisions. We carefully examine the existing context and assess how water infrastructure can best be optimised and integrated. Our focus is on creating solutions that are functional, adaptive and tailored to both technical and human needs.

When space for construction is limited, we help prioritise the use of urban space so that the solution's full potential is realised. We work closely with users, stakeholders and technicians to ensure that the project's objectives are achieved. Our goal is to deliver clear solutions that are easy to operate and create value both locally and across social groups.

We manage projects from initial studies through design and tendering to execution and handover. With methods such as complex 3D modelling and tools for reducing CO₂ emissions from facilities, we provide the right tools for each individual project.

Our experience

With many years of experience in the water sector, we have built up a multidisciplinary team that handles everything from complex new construction projects to the optimisation of existing facilities. We collaborate with public and private utility companies as well as municipalities, and over the years we have completed projects that both create local value and set new international standards. Buildings that house water supply facilities are an important part of the shared public space. That is why we develop solutions that not only support the technical system behind the supply, but also contribute to a deeper understanding of water as a resource that belongs to and concerns us all.
