Everyone should be able to move through our shared public spaces and buildings in a safe and dignified way. In complex environments such as stations, terminals, and other public transport hubs, universal design is not just a feature – it’s a fundamental design principle that ensures equal access and high functionality for all, regardless of physical or cognitive ability.

Bridge in Tyresta National Park, Sweden
Tyresta, Sweden
Gottlieb Paludan Architects has won the competition to design new arrival facilities and a new footbridge for a 1,970-hectare national park located southeast of Stockholm.
In the competition, Tyresö Municipality requested a bridge that respects the area's unspoiled nature. The new main entrance to Tyresta National Park begins a journey through a landscape that transitions from cultural landscape to increasingly untouched natural areas with primeval forest, and the bridge over Nyforsviken is to be an integral part of the natural progression through the national park. The design therefore subordinates itself to the surrounding nature and is based on a detailed and thorough understanding of the existing qualities.
